SYNOPSIS

The richly layered story of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child continues nineteen years after Voldemort has been defeated at Hogwarts. Harry Potter is now the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and it’s time for his son Albus Potter to start with his first year at Hogwarts.

Here, Albus is sorted into Slytherin house, and to much surprise to his family, forms a deep friendship with an unlikely ally Scorpius Malfoy, the son of Harry’s former rival Draco Malfoy. Struggling with living up to his father’s legacy and preferring to rather be just a normal boy, there is much strain on his relationship with Harry. After Amos Diggory, Cedric Diggory’s father, begs Harry to use a Time-Turner to return to the evening of Cedric’s death and save him, and Harry refuses. Albus steals the Time-Turner, and with the help of Scorpius and Delphi Diggory, travels back to the Triwizard Tournament, attempting to stop Cedric from reaching the trophy by disarming him. However, tampering with the past has far-reaching effects on the present and future.

At the very core of it, is Jack Thorne’s masterfully written original play based on the characters and tales of J.K. Rowling, set nineteen years after the conclusion of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
