"Six" is the retelling of the wives of King Henry the 8th, who was a well-known king of England in the 1500s. During his nearly four decades as king, he married six times. His desire to leave his first marriage saw the separation of the Church of England. Many people probably are familiar with the story of Henry VIII. The musical focuses on the story of these six queens as they tell their individual experiences with Henry VIII. The queens compete for who had the roughest experience in living with the king. They achieve their “happily ever afters” that Henry VIII denied them by dreaming of what their lives could have been like without seeing Henry VIII.
